Apurva Kempinski Bali Hotel

Here is a copy of my article on the Apurva Kempinski Bali Hotel as published in the Singapore-based travel magazine Asian Journeys for its October 2019 edition.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali Hotel is situated in Nusa Dua, Bali and is a most fascinating building. In fact, it is so large it is more like a tropical city. I have stayed at the hotel twice. The first time, back in February 2019 before it was finished but was having a soft opening, and the second time in September 2019 when the hotel was almost completed.

It is the most impressive building, almost overwhelming in its size and splendour. The views from just about anywhere in the complex are simply amazing. The hotel is huge, yet you enjoy a feeling of serenity as the hotel is designed with your privacy in mind. Even the magnificent eternity pool features private, watery alcoves where you can enjoy the experience away from the crowds. Here, it is the small things that matter, such as providing you with different flavoured granitas as you lie by the pool, or on the beach, just to help you cool down in the tropical heat.

Rooms are very well-appointed: comfortable, contemporary and luxurious. The bathrooms are very high-tech, which both surprise and delight with the many accoutrements that assist in pampering you.

I have stayed in many hotels, but few have impressed me as much as the Apurva Kempinski Bali Hotel. The rooms were fantastic, but it is the quality of service that is most appreciated, and so memorable.

Staff are friendly and inclusive, and you really do get the feeling they are genuinely happy that you chose to stay there. They are not obsequious, simply professional and willing to please.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali Hotel is a most welcoming place to stay, and as soon as you arrive you know that you will not be ready to leave when that sad time arrives.
